Solar Cookers International (SCI) is seeking a Public Relations Officer to lead the communications and marketing strategy for publications, media, website, and messaging to achieve the organization’s strategic plan. The employee will create high-quality collateral to consistently articulate and promote the mission and brand of SCI.

This is a full-time, salaried position. Compensation commensurate with experience.

Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

Required: Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in Public Relations,  ideally in an “in-house” leadership role, and covering media, website content, newsletters, and donor communications. The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages, and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels is critical. Proven skills in relationship building.

Preferred: A bachelor’s degree, with coursework in communications, graphic communications, business, marketing, psychology or related field. 

Contract position: Researcher/ Writer to produce White Paper

Solar Cookers International seeks an experienced researcher and writer for a project of limited scope. 

Solar Cookers International plans to release a white paper on successful, scalable solar cooking projects.

The successful contractor should have a working knowledge of solar thermal energy or climate science from an engineering, environmental science, or policy discipline, or experience in science journalism.

Contract for this project is $2,000 USD.
