Kitty Hoffman

Development Manager

Kitty Hoffman is SCI’s Development Manager and is enthusiastic about securing funding for life-changing initiatives and promoting SCI’s mission through relationship development and community engagement. There’s no feeling or job more fulfilling than giving people the opportunity to invest in the positive change they want to see in the world, in her opinion.  Ms. Hoffman was inspired to join Solar Cookers International when she learned that smoke from cooking over an open fire poses a higher health risk than malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS combined for the nearly 3 billion people worldwide (mainly women and children) who cook over wood, animal waste, or charcoal fires.  She believes that feeding your family shouldn’t be a death sentence.

Kitty hails from Maryland and has been making her way across America through her nonprofit experience, including time spent with: Habitat for Humanity of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Reading Partners of Sacramento, California; and Sierra Forever Families of Sacramento and Northern California.

Ms. Hoffman joined the SCI team in 2019. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Gettysburg College, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, in Anthropology and English.  When she’s not at SCI you can find Kitty trying out new recipes, spending time with her cats, or planning her next adventure.
