James G. (Jim) Moose has over ten years of experience in solar cooking. He joined SCI in 2008 as a Board Member and has been SCI Board President since 2016.
He makes his living as an environmental attorney with the Sacramento firm of Remy Moose Manley, LLP, where he is the senior partner. His practice focuses on land use, water, and environmental matters, with an emphasis on compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). He represents both public and private clients both in litigation and during local, regional, and state administrative processes. He has participated as counsel in many lawsuits that resulted in published, precedent-setting California Supreme Court and Court of Appeal decisions. He is also a co-author of the Guide to the California Environmental Quality Act, and frequently lectures on environmental law topics to professional audiences.

Mr. Moose received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall) and his B.A. in English/History, University of California, Berkeley (cum laude; phi beta kappa). His professional memberships include: State Bar of California – Environmental Law and Public Law Sections; California State Courts; United States Supreme Court; United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; and Articles Editor, Ecology Law Quarter. Moose was selected for inclusion in 2009-2018 Northern California Super Lawyers ® magazine, and to the Sacramento Business Journal’s Best of the Bar 2014.
