Carol E. Anderson

Carol E. Anderson joined Solar Cookers in June 2026.

“As a Board Member, I am thrilled to be a part of an organization focusing on two critical issues: protecting the environment and empowering women. SCI does both, while promoting greater justice for marginalized people.” 

Carol owned her own business for forty years as an organizational consultant focused on developing positive cultures and conscious leaders. She continues her practice of thirty years as a life coach for people interested in personal change. Prior to becoming a consultant, Carol worked as a School Psychologist and coach for the Executive MBA program at the University of Michigan. At age fifty, she founded Rebellious Dreamers, a small non-profit, that supports women to reclaim dreams they have deferred. 

Upon “flying up” (her word for retirement) she returned to school for an MFA in creative non-fiction and published her first award-winning memoir, You Can’t Buy Love Like That: Growing Up Gay in the Sixties. She is currently working on a second, tentatively entitled: I’m Not Afraid of Dying, I’m Afraid of Missing the Point.  

Her most significant personal achievement has been creating and sustaining a deep, loving, humor-filled relationship with her spouse for twenty-five years. Her most significant professional achievement was developing a shared work culture across teams in China, India, Germany, the UK, and the United States. 

Carol holds a doctorate in spiritual studies, and master’s degrees in school psychology, organizational development, and creative nonfiction. 

Carol’s passions are writing, women’s empowerment, protecting the environment and travel photography.
