Empowering Coastal Communities Through Solar Cooking and Sustainable Livelihoods
Amid one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, SCI brought stability, safety, and opportunity to Yemeni families by harnessing the country’s most abundant resource — sunlight.
Working alongside trusted local and international partners, SCI trained community members, delivered solar cookers and dryers, and created new pathways for income and food security. These efforts helped families meet daily needs while building long-term resilience in an uncertain environment.
“We’re grateful for SCI’s valuable contribution toward food security and resilience for coastal communities in Yemen.”

Transforming Communities Through Solar Education and Clean Energy Tools
In the remote regions of Nepal, unreliable fuel supplies and difficult terrain often make everyday cooking a challenge. Through partnership with the Foundation for Sustainable Technologies (FoST), SCI helped families turn sunlight into a dependable source of energy and confidence.
By combining solar cooking tools with hands-on training, communities learned how to integrate clean energy into their daily lives. This shift reduced dependence on firewood and imported gas, lowered household expenses, and protected families from harmful smoke and environmental degradation.
Impact Snapshot
Solar tools and hands-on training for dozens of households
Reduced reliance on firewood and imported fuels
Increased resilience during earthquakes, floods, and supply chain disruptions
Thanks to SCI’s supporters, these families now cook safely, affordably, and sustainably — proving that even the most remote regions can thrive under the power of the sun.
