How it works
Solar cooking turns sunlight into heat that cooks food and makes water safe to drink. It requires no fuel, no flames, and no electricity.
A solar cooker captures sunlight and converts it into thermal energy. Most designs use reflective surfaces to direct sunlight onto a dark cooking pot or interior space. The heat gets trapped and builds up, reaching temperatures high enough to boil water, bake bread, or simmer stews.
