Thanks to Solar Cookers International supporters, SCI is spreading knowledge of solar cooking even further.  Solar Cookers International was just featured in The New Yorker magazine:
in its September 30th edition. The New Yorker has over 1 million readers.  The article describes the importance of solar cooking, and SCI’s role.

SCI Science Director Alan Bigelow, Ph.D., hosted The New Yorker author Ian Frazier in August to a solar cooking feast. Mr. Frazier watched the preparation of a delicious solar cooked meal while dialoguing with long-time SCI supporter and solar cooking advocate Mary Frank. Ms. Frank helped develop the connection through the American Academy of Arts and Letters (also a supporter of Solar Cookers International), which you can read more about at:

Awareness and support are essential in implementing SCI’s mission of improving human and environmental health by supporting the expansion of effective carbon-free solar cooking in world regions of greatest need.   Thank you to everyone who helps make this a reality.

If you’d like to learn more about solar cooking and why it’s important, you are encouraged to attend a presentation at the Nyack Library on September 26, 2019 when Dr. Bigelow will speak at 7:30 p.m. For more information about this event, and to register to attend, click here:
