Vedika Jiandani

Communications Specialist

“Born and raised in India, I grew up enjoying solar-cooked meals regularly, thanks to my mom who always encouraged eco-conscious practices. This early exposure stayed with me, and as my career unfolded, I witnessed firsthand the tremendous potential of solar cooking in uplifting the lives of women and young girls across remote corners of my country. The mission of SCI thus deeply resonates with my aspiration to advocate for sustainable cooking solutions and contribute to addressing the climate crisis.”

Vedika joined SCI in February 2024 and brings over a decade of experience in marketing and communications to the table. Previously, she has worked with non-profits and corporate social responsibility entities across India, the United States, and Sweden. From content development, fundraising, brand management, and digital marketing to public relations, she has worn many hats, all geared toward making a positive difference.

Throughout her professional journey, Vedika has closely engaged with development experts, local communities, non-profit partners, and government workers to uncover stories of positive transformation, spanning initiatives on hunger-relief and food rescue, sustainable farming, rural employment, and sanitation and hygiene. These experiences have helped her gain insights into the challenges faced by countless families every day and fuel her motivation to create communication strategies that bring maximum social impact.

In 2023, Vedika earned her master’s degree in international development and management from Lund University, Sweden. This program was a strategic choice aimed at deepening her knowledge of sustainable development and project management, with the goal of becoming a more effective communicator and leader. Currently based near Stockholm, Vedika enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband. An avid board games enthusiast, she is always up for games and pizza nights.
