Katrien Van Acoleyen joined the Solar Cookers International Board in 2025, driven by a passion for impactful solutions that address critical global challenges. She believes that solar cooking represents a tangible and targeted approach to enhancing environmental sustainability, improving health outcomes, empowering women, and fostering economic development. With a commitment to driving meaningful change, Katrien looks forward to collaborating with fellow board members and stakeholders to amplify the impact of Solar Cookers International and advance its mission.
With over 30 years of experience in leadership, risk management, and credit analysis within financial institutions across EMEA, Katrien currently serves as the Global Head of Operations and Controls rating team at S&P Global, based in London, UK. She has also implemented various regulations, developed the Generative AI strategy, and is a member of the Women Initiative for Networking and Success (WINS) for her company.
Katrien has a Master of Laws from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, and a master’s in European management from Ecole des Affaires de Paris (EAP). She speaks Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish.
